(The second stone)
The Meaning of the Pathways

As we enter the Labyrinth we turn onto the 3td pathway. This is one with our 3td body, chakra, or the 3td level of ourselves. The location in our bodies is just above the navel, it is where we experience "gut feeling" or reaction, that "pit of the stomach" feeling. This path is where we carry our "will" and motivation, our "go for it ness". It is what compels us on our spiritual path to use creator’s gifts. As we walk this path inward we could ask ourselves and creator "what motivates me?", "How best do I use this?", "What is it I'm feeling?" or many things. Later on the way OUT of the Labyrinth you will listen/feel/look for creator’s answer to what you asked on each path.

 The next path you enter on turning is the second path. We walk the Labyrinth as we breath inward then outward then back in following nature’s cycles. This also represents our going inward into sacred spaces and rites then carrying that experience outward to your tribe, then going inward again for more learning. Turning next onto the second path is where we carry our tribal stuff.  Our social being, how we have learned to act and react in our families, neighborhood and culture. Good and bad. Those messages spoken or not that cause us to "become" rather then "being" among our people. On this path we might ask "How was I affected by my parents beliefs or actions?" "How did I react to the school system or church?" "What valuable things has my tribe instilled in me?"

 This circle of us is at the navel and also effects our "gut feeling". These two are thought by many to hold the "soul". This is next to the physical and is how we effect our tribe and people.

 We turn next to circle, level, chakra one. This is our physical path. A path to ask on: "What are my strengths?" "What do I bring of the world to my lodge?" "What tools or land or objects do I have?", "What is my way with sacred mother earth?" (this is her realm also ). If you were walking the Labyrinth seeking counsel on a business you could ask "What tools do I bring?”  "What is my financing" "What physical strength do I bring?" What else does the business need?" Etc, etc.

 The next circle of ourselves and all life is the heart. "How do I feel-love-know passion and joy / sorrow?" "How does my smile come back when life gets me down?" "How well do I love?" This forth circle is where the three earth bound levels mix with the upper three levels that are connected to creator. Our heart that beats with the all and holds all. This is an important path to spend time with.

We turn next to the spiritual, our "crown" chakra. The top of our heads through which the light of the creator enters. We ask here "Is this by creator’s will?" " Am I walking his path?" "How does creator feel about this action or this business being started?" This is the pathway closest to center (creator). As in life we may feel "I'm almost there!!" and just as center seems within reach we turn outward, learning to let go of expectation and move to new learning in the "path of the third eye."

 Our fifth circle of self. This is the way of our instant. Our inner knowing our "psychic-ness".  Where knowing meets thinking.  We could seek answers to what we know, how mother earth speaks to us with creator’s wisdom. What do we know within ourselves?"  This is where our tracking skills through life lead us.  The knowing of your ancestors in your very cells. 

Then after that we turn onto the path, the circle of the throat. Our listening and speaking, how well we communicate. Do we here and see the earth's messages? Do we hear/see creator’s ways and wishes? How well do we intake information and how well do we speak? With a positive and caring tongue? Do we show ,teach, speak, and act well? In short communicate creator’s best- the best we can at any given time? It is the last path before creator as it is the throat that can speak the truth discovered on all the other levels or paths. 

FINALLY we come to center. The center of all, the central vortex of the labyrinth where you and creator are present together at the same time. By now you should be in line with all within and without.  Walking the labyrinth has aliened your bio-electric, magnetic and etheric signals into coherence (meeting with out interference). This is your moment, to speak and listen, seek and find in yours and creator’s personal way of meeting. 

When it is right to move out; again with thanks and offering we move outward LISTENING for the answers on each pathway to the questions we contemplated on that path. Watch for creator’s signal in the stones. in the sky above and the sounds coming to and from you. Feel for any messages in the body. in the way you move. Are you seeing or hearing with enhanced perception? Through new eyes? Be aware of any new thoughts and ideas.

      You will walk, dance, move through the third path of the throat again. What new realizations you share? Is the creator answering what you asked about hearing and listening? 

Then back through the way of your intuitive knowing turning to your connection with creator/God with answers to find there. You win pass next to the heart reality. What is there, really there. Listen. Watch and feel very intently to your heart for you carry the creator’s spirit there from this meeting. 

The last three are those of earth: What we have and live with physically, how our tribe, family and social influences affects us. Finally we look with new knowledge at our will and motivation as we move through the sixth path and turn outward to give thanks and offering to earth, creator, or both and all. 

How you move through the labyrinth is up to you.  Dance, run, stroll.  Be formal or a child moving with the wind.  Stay long or short.  Bring in someone you need to be in harmony with.  It is the job of the device, the labyrinth, to harmonize anything within its influence.  Play your drum or institute, draw or read.  In short, ENJOY!
